More and more, researchers are finding that trauma is stored in the body.
Therefore, if we truly want to heal, we need to bring the body into the work of healing.
We all come into adulthood with coping mechanisms learned in childhood.
Many of us begin to find that, not only are these coping mechanisms not working anymore,
they are holding us back from living the way we long to live.
This work is designed to uncover those patterns, process the pain they contain,
and help you discover new possibilities for living an authentic, embodied life.
The psychosomatic approach is experiential and dynamic. Sessions involve exercises that are connected to the psychological material presented and are designed to restore energetic and emotional integrity to the system.
We do not feel our feelings in our minds. We feel our feelings in our bodies. Connecting the experience of the mind with the feelings of the body is where the richness lies in this work. This way, unconscious patterns are brought to consciousness.
The goal of the work is ultimately to increase authenticity, self-knowledge, groundedness, personal empowerment, honest communication, and the experience of living with a deeper sense of embodiment and an open heart.
I offer virtual sessions as well as in-person sessions in Manhattan.
Please feel free to reach out through the Contact page if you cannot find an answer to your question here.
As I do not take insurance, I aim to keep my rates affordable so that I can see clients weekly, which is my strong preference:
$150/50-minute session in-person
$125/50-minute session virtual
I do see a proportion of clients in my practice on a sliding scale. My reasons for accepting a client on a sliding scale include any societal history of oppression or disadvantage, and/or any inherited legacies of scarcity/poverty.
